Matchless G3RC Trials Bike

matchlessBike: 1952 Matchless G3LC Trials

CC: 410cc short stroke motor (vice the standard 350cc for this model) which was a period modification.

Matchless Model G3LC produced from 1946 through to 1958

Bike was built by the late Maurice Hocking who was a well known Matchless trials builder from Hampshire.  This bike is one of only 10 that were built by Maurice and is one of only two that are regularly used for motorcycle trials (the other being the late Len Hutty Jnr’s 410 Matchless).

Despite being geared for trials riding the road top gear is retained for road work and the bike is a regular at Prescott Bike Festival and has been to Shelsley twice before.  The bike won the ACU Sammy Miller National Trials championship (with the current rider) in 2011.  The bike is running super soft IRC knobbly trials tyres.  For more photos, please see, MatchlessMan (Facebook), Matchlessman410 (Twitter).  The bike always seems to draw a lot of attention whenever it’s on track.
